Wearing badges increases security for Ames Lab spaces, information, equipment, and people. We can help each other remember to wear our badges.
If you see someone who is wearing their badge, it’s great to recognize that too. We can all help each other adjust to this requirement.
Be polite and non-confrontational
If you don’t know the person, you could introduce yourself, welcome them to the Lab and offer to show them to the Badging Office.
Direct colleagues to the Badging Office (105 TASF, 515-294-6076, badgingoffice@ameslab.gov) if they have questions about wearing badges or need to pick up or trade a lanyard, clip, armband, or badge holder
Feel free to pick the ones that work best for the person you’re talking to, or come up with your own.
“Hi, just a reminder that we’re all supposed to be wearing badges now that we’re in the new year.”
“Hi [Name], I see you're not wearing your badge. Do you need a lanyard, clip, or armband? They’re free at the Badging Office in 105 TASF.”
"Hey [Name], looks like your badge is on vacation! Can you put it on when you get a moment?"
If they’re hosting a visitor: “That’s great you have a visitor! They can get a visitor badge or sticker at the Badging Office.”
